Vacation Bible School
Vacation Bible School (VBS) was the first request from our core team in Anapra. During the summer, parents were at work and children were left at home in 100+ degree heat with nothing to do and sometimes nothing to eat. VBS was created to provide various activities and a healthy snack for children and teenagers attending.
VBS has continued to evolved over the years, meeting the current needs of the community. A dedicated group of mothers and the Manos Amigas youth group facilitate the program. The children learn prayers, listen to a bible reading, sing songs, make crafts, and share a snack each day.
Kansas City volunteers create the curriculum, plan the crafts and activities, and finance all costs related to VBS. This is a great opportunity for US volunteers to attend and interact with the Anapra community.
