Happy Thanksgiving

November 24, 2019 | 0 Comments

Thanksgiving is a unique American holiday. It is the day we take time out to count our blessings: family friends, health, good food, shelter, jobs, and all the things we are privileged to enjoy because we were born and live in the United States. Manos Amigas gives thanks for the relationship with our family across the border in Anapra, Mexico: the students, the elderly, the people we help with health issues, the moms, dads, new babies, and the ladies who coordinate our efforts in Anapra.

Manos Amigas gives thanks for all the generous people that help us meet the needs of our family in Anapra. You help with your money, time, presence, craft supplies, school supplies, letters and prayers. Thanksgiving marks the beginning of the holiday season and the winter cold. It is cold in Anapra too with 30 degree temperatures. Houses do not have insulation or centeral heating.

Heat assistance for 22 elderly people began this month in the form of firewood and propane gas. For Christmas, these elderly people and 50 families of students we sponsor will receive a food basket to help them celebrate the holiday with good food and family.

This holiday season, please consider a gift to our family in Anapra:

Donate one month of heat for an elderly person.

Donate a Christmas food basket for an Anapra family.
